Flare Cinematography Film Festival recently wrapped up another impactful edition of its Underwater Cinematography Workshop, held on April 13th and 14th, 2025. The two-day intensive session was led by acclaimed cinematographer Priya Seth (IWCC, ISC).
Participants had the unique opportunity to learn directly from Priya Seth, who shared her vast experience in underwater cinematography, offering valuable insights and mentorship to both emerging and established filmmakers. The workshop received 60 registrations, with 25 participants selected for a focused, hands-on learning experience.
This initiative was made possible with the support of our valued partners: Light N Light, Underwater Film Services, MG Lights and Cam, Zeiss India, Prime Focus Pvt Ltd, and Bridgepost Works.
Flare remains committed to nurturing talent and advancing the craft of cinematography through specialized workshops and masterclasses.

Flare Cinematography Film Festival had another successful Highspeed Product Cinematography workshop with Mentors Deepti Gupta IWCC ISC, and Product expert Joel Fonceca. The two-day workhop, held from March 5-6, 2025, allowed participants to gain knowledge directly from Deepti and Joel, who shared their vast experience and provided valuable guidance to both emerging and established cinematographers. The Masterclass had 60 registrations with 25 selected participants. This initiative was supported by Light N Light, Sparkle Production, Agito Broadcast, Zoo Grips and Bridgepost Works.

Cinematographers Meet at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival

On January 29, 2025, the Flare Cinematography Film Festival hosted a panel discussion in collaboration with the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, one of Asia’s largest street art festivals. The free and open-to-the-public event was a huge success, with around 200 attendees joining the conversation, which lasted for two hours. The panel explored the essential role of mentorship in supporting emerging talent in cinematography. It featured renowned cinematographers Kiran Deohans ISC, Fowzia Fathima IWCC ISC, Deepti Gupta IWCC ISC, Siddharth Diwan ISC and Neha Parti Matiyani IWCC ISC, who engaged in a conversation moderated by Priyanka Singh IWCC.

The festival kicked off with a highly anticipated masterclass with the legendary cinematographer Kiran Deohans ISC. Known for his extraordinary contributions to Indian cinema, Deohans has worked on iconic films such as Aks, Jodha Akbar, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. The three-day masterclass, held from January 15-17, 2025, allowed participants to gain knowledge directly from Deohans, who shared his vast experience and provided valuable guidance to both emerging and established cinematographers. The Masterclass had 110 registrations with 34 selected participants. This initiative was supported by Light N Light, Cineom, ARRI India and Futureworks.
